Noisy furnace motor cleaned, housing brackets tightened and noise reduced and all but eliminated-- but of even greater value was the recommendation AGAINST replacing the motor at this time (too costly for the likely benefit).  The honesty alone was worth the modest service fee.

We had water damage and mold in our crawl space and had the heating ducts down there removed and new ones installed after the mold was removed. Dean came over right away and gave us an estimate. He was able to get the work started the next day which was terrific since we could not use our system until the work was done. While they were here, they discovered no return had been installed when the job was done in 2005 and had to come back a second day to do that.
The technician was terrific and Dean, the owner, was honest and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the company!

"I had noticed a year ago that sometimes the fan on the air conditioning condenser outside the house would stay on long after the blower inside the house had turned off. Then recently, the fan wouldn't turn off at all, so I had to turn off the circuit breakers. Finally, I couldn't turn the unit back on and it was HOT out!. I called the receptionist at Kilowat who took my contact info and I had a return call within 15 minutes from the owner who came over the same day and diagnosed a bad compressor (the unit was 16 years old). He also noticed that the original installation had not included a secondary drain pan (also true for a second unit I have on the other side of the house). He was very helpful in describing the possible ways to address the problem. Ultimately, I went with his suggestion to replace our old Rheem condenser with a new one (5 Ton) that uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant (R-410) and 14 SEER (a little more expensive, but good for the environment and better for the electric bill). He had to replace the coil connected to the existing furnace to adapt the new condenser. He also did the secondary drain pans for both my units. All this took only a day. The workers were friendly, clean, neat and left the place spotless. The workmanship to my eye looks terrific. Everything was explained to me clearly. The price includes a 6 month maintenance call and a 1 year warranty on the installation (in addition to the manufacturers warranty)." - Angies List Member, Los Angeles

After multiple expensive bids to replace a broken compressor I was lucky enough to happen upon Kilowatt.

Not only was Kilowatt the lowest bid, but Dean was by far the most up front and honest bidder for the job. Instead of expensive repairs, he suggested far cheaper fixes for my A/C issues.

It turns out that the man who came on the service call actually owns the company! Very friendly man. He saw that my previous A/C company had made some mistakes when they installed my unit originally. It had never worked 100%. I liked that he did not bad mouth my old company (even though I would never use them again!) He repaired the problem and then he started walking around looking at my air conditioning registers. He made quite a few adjustments so that my system would work at its maximum efficiency. Kilowatt rewired my home. I called because my lights were flickering ominously and just as I suspected the wire was old cloth wrapped wiring that needed to be replaced.
